Germany: DAAD Master Scholarships
Masters' Scholarships to Germany - NEW:
Same as Above, however, Students apply to DAAD and at the same time to the university of their choice in Germany, where an International Degree Course covering their field of interest is offered. All students applying on this track need very good English (usually TOEFL 550 or above). You first have to pass the round of DAAD interviews. In addition you have to get an acceptance from one German University in order to get your scholarship.
This track is recommended to the very best students. Also, you should make sure that the International Degree Course you want to apply to is clearly superior to the comparable program in Jordan, or, in some cases, there is no comparable course in Jordan.
Application deadline: September 14, 2006
Use green application forms: "One-Year Scholarship for postgraduate studies".
Attention: Only complete applications can be processed. Do keep the deadline.
Eligibility

They should envisage an academic career at a Palestinian University and be supported in this by their respective universities. (This program is designed as a faculty-building program. Two recent photos.
Choice of one or more International Degree Programs in Germany (state clearly why you chose these programs and why you prefer them over programs offered in Jordan).
TOEFL exam
Copy of your passport.
Applications must be submitted in duplicate (i.e. two separate complete packages - one package with original papers respectively certified copies, one with all papers as simple photocopies, except for the letters of recommendation which should always be submitted in a sealed envelope. Please, organize your papers according to our above checklist. This will make things so much easier for us!).
Candidates invited for an interview should bring with them to the interview two additional packages with all papers as simple photocopies plus two additional sealed recommendation letters. (So please, do keep copies with you and ask for enough recommendation letters in sealed envelopes!)
Application-Deadline: September 14 th, 2006
Please, use the green application-papers (Other programs: Master in Germany). Only complete applications can be accepted and processed.
Only applicants fulfilling all relevant requirements who have submitted a complete application will be invited to an interview (to be held in English) by a bi-national Palestinian-German Committee, which will take a preliminary decision. (Please, check when you are scheduled for your interview and confirm it with the DAAD IC in Jerusalem).
The preliminary results of these interviews will be made available as soon as possible, after completion of the country-wide round of interviews.
The final decision will be made by a German academic committee at the DAAD Head Office in Bonn in February 2007. Results will be announced by the end of March 2007.
Application-papers cannot be returned.
The successful candidates must get an acceptance from one of the International Degree Programs in Germany. Scholarships can only be given to those students who got this acceptance.
If your name appears on the shortlist of applications submitted to the DAAD Head Office in Bonn, please, immediately start your application process to one of the International Degree Programs
You have to submit a completely new application to your chosen course. Each course will let you know which papers and documents are required. Again, you will have to submit certified copies of your degrees and your transcripts. Therefore, make sure you ask for at least three or more copies from your university when you start your original DAAD application. Do submit only those papers and exam-results required by the respectiveprogram. Don’t send results of exams in which you did not score high and which are not requested.
Do inform us at the DAAD IC in Jerusalem, when you send out an application. We shall then get in touch directly with these programs in Germany. Also, you should make sure to mention quite clearly in your application that you applied for a DAAD scholarship. As soon as you have been awarded the scholarship, do inform your chosen degree program in Germany immediately.
