Scholarships & Training
Public Service Department (PSD) provides scholarships and loans for students to further their studies either locally or overseas.
OVERSEAS SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
Top University Program
Under this program, excellent students will be chosen to undergo a preparatory course in the country for about one to two years. This program is being conducted in local preparatory colleges. The students will then be placed in top overseas universities subject to the following conditions:
passed with distinction in the preparatory program;
has been offered a place in any of the top universities listed by JPA; and
certified medically fit.
The countries chosen for this scholarship program are the United States of America, the United Kingdom and Australia.
German Engineering Program
Students selected for scholarship under this program will have to undergo a two-year preparatory course at PPPITM, Shah Alam. In this course, the students will be thought the basic of the German language and will have to sit for A-Level Examinations. Those who pass the university entrance examination will be sent to pursue their first degree in any German University.
LOCAL SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
Scholarship
Scholarships are being awarded to excellent local students in fields such as Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Engineering and Science and Technology.
Scholarships are also awarded to excellent students in the Ministry of Education's polytechnics.
Loans
Loans are being given only to students in local polytechnics.
At the moment, the Training Division also sponsors overseas students who face financial problems. However, the loan being given is only to support their tuition fees.
Applicants for scholarships/loans must be:
Malaysian citizens;
Has been offered a place in a local university, UITM or polytechnic.
Not above 26 years for Diploma course.
Not above 36 years for First Degree and Advanced Diploma courses.
Not above 45 years for Government Officers.
