U. S. Student Fulbright grants are available in more than 140 countries worldwide. For comprehensive information on grant opportunities in a specific country, click on the pertinent world area below. Grants are generally available in all fields of study.

At the current time, some country programs have been temporarily suspended in response to travel adviseries issued by the United States Department of State. However, all Fulbright U.S. Student openings and awards that are planned for the 2007/2008 academic year are represented in this section.

Inquiries about the status of a particular opening should be directed to IIE/New York.

Geographical listings in this publication are a matter of administrative convenience and are not intended to imply a U.S. Government position on the legal status of the areas listed.

The issuance of an award and the terms of that award may be subject to change by conditions in the host country. The final decision as to the number of awards and availability of specific openings is subject to funding considerations and approval by the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.
